I am a huge supporter of shopping with local independents, small businesses and makers. This year has tried it's absolute best to try and grind many small businesses to a halt or in the worst case wipe them out completely. With markets being limited, trade events being cancelled or postponed and non essential shops forced to close at a moments notice, these small businesses owners have tried every option to try and keep the cash coming in.
Fortunately there are some fantastic small businesses out there who are staying strong to keep delivering you new and exciting products and services as well as many being conscious of the environment and ensuring real wages amongst other great benefits.
Stockport based Web Designer and all round computer whizz, Paul Jardine has put together a list of his favourite Stockport Small businesses and has also given my shop a feature, (thank you Paul!). These great small businesses are perfect for a visit (post lockdown) as well as to check out the amazing products they have to offer. Click HERE to read Paul's blog.
I've also recently been introduced to MUKA, a collective platform that are celebrating and documenting Manchester's creatives. The collective have put together a great blog post about some individual makers as well as some fantastic small business shops around Manchester. Click HERE to give their blog post a read. (Thank you for the feature MUKA)
If you are a small business or maker, please do get in touch! I'd love to learn more about you.
