Creating a Little Zine

Updated: May 19

What is a Zine and why should I make one?

A Zine (pronounced "zeen") is a homemade publication that can be filled with anything you're interested in, there are no set rules and you can fully unleash your creativity when making one!

You can experiment with things such as changing the paper size to make a massive zine or a teeny zine, you can change the colour of the paper, use collage, drawing, mark making, sewing...

It's something you can complete in an hour or a few days depending on how much time you want to spend creating it.

You can fill your zine with whatever subject matter you like, you can also use the pages as a set lay out to flick through or open the whole page back out to fill completely and then fold back up again!

For those of you who would like to create an adventure zine, I have included an A4 template that you can print out at the bottom of this page. If you don't have a printer (like me) you'll have to roll your sleeves up and get creative!

I have also included illustrated instructions that you can print out or just use from your screen, as well as a video tutorial if you learn better through watching.

an instruction sheet on how to make a zine
Feel free to print this sheet out to use in the future
